Land Biome:


Land Biome: A land Biome is a large area of land that has the same type of climate, plants and animals. By climate, I mean the average temperature and precipitation, such as rain.

There are eight major terrstrial biomes: Tropical, Rainforest, Savannah, Subtropical, Deserts and much more! Some Land Biomes will say that there are five, some six and some more. It is common to state that there are five major Biomes.

The largest Biome is : Taiga,also known as coniferous or Boreal forest.

Polar Regions:
*Arctic
*Antarctic
*Ice Caps
*Animals finds
*Food Ocean
*Penguins, albatross gulls
*whales
*Seals
*Polar Bears
*South/North Pole
*(VERY COLD HERE)!

Tundra:
-Cold 7*C
-2 Seasons
-Long dark winter
-Short summer
-Close to North pole
-Soil is frozen
-No trees, growing season is too short
-Plant life-grass,mosses,shrubs
-Animals:Foxes, Snow, Owls, Horses, Muskox, Caribou
Soil is nutrient-poor and acidic

Forests:
-Temperature is on average 20-25*
-Soil is nutrient-poor and acidic
-Forest grow where its not too hot not too cold
-lots of nutrients and water
-Animals: moose, deer, bears, wolves, foxes, rabbits, squirles as well as plent birds and reptiles

Grassland and Savanna:
*Grassland and Savanna are related and often intermixed biomes typically dominated by grasses

*True grassland supports few if any woody plants, while Savanna include varying proportions or shurbs and trees
*Savanna is located in ''Africa''! Savannas of one sort or another cover almost half the surface of Africa.
