Hello to all. 

Today room 3 has been learning alot on different things. We had a task to do for our Poetry. Here are some things we learnt from Poetry. Poetry can cause use to see pictures in our mind, Poetry has focus and themes. In Poetrys we dont use sentences we use Stanzas.

Taha Wairua

This is just a message to all of you out there reading this. Being depressed isn't good, it dosen't help you get out of the house, it dosen't make you do any of these or it wont make you happy at all. You will stay depressed for your life time if you do not Pray, Read the bible or sing some songs. If you are ever depressed or sad, just jump onto my blog and read this message, and I reckon this little message will help you. 

Taha Tinana.

Good morning :) Today and yesterday I was working on the Taha Tinana. Taha Tinana is your health of you body, and you should always be doing exercise. Exercise is the best thing for your body, you should do these everyday or you should go for a run/walk. This is what I did for my Taha Tinana, just to keep my body healthy and fit.  

Measurement - Room 3

Task Description: Today I have been working on a Measurement task. This task is all about measurement, why I like doing these kind of task is because it makes me learn more about Measurement.

Taha Whanau - Room 3

Task Description: Today room 3 had to work on a task that Mrs Tele'a made. This task contains family and what our family roles are, for example this is what I have did. We had to make an avatar that is similar to your siblings or parents, and we also had to write down below or beside our avatars whats our role, or what we do at home. 

5 things im grateful for:

We had a choice to stay home or come to school. Heaps of students from Pt England decided to come to school. Teachers here @ Pt England school think its a good thing that we chose to come back to school, instead of staying home. I also think its a good choice that we chose to come back to school, because we can stay focused on our work because at home we might have siblings that like to annoy you.

Task Description: Today room 3 has been working on a task. Room 3 is having a challenge with room 11 and 12, also Ms Ilaoa. This is a challenge were you have to post someting about the countrys we have been working on this whole week. 

Dragon's Eye - Room 3

Today room 3 has been working on Dragon's eye. Its really fun to learn more about because there is this lake located somewhere in the world, If you swim in it with your partner apparently your marriage will last long and you will be blessed with children. 

A world of difference - Pt England School

Good Morning everyone, and welcome to term 3.

Today I am going to be explaining what Pt England school does everyone on the first day of the term. Every first day of the term, we have immersion assembly. It stands for what we are going to be learning about this term. All the teams get to perform or show a slideshow of their saying to what we are going to be learning about!

Team 1: Team one's slide show was about finding all the different things they do in the world similar to our world. When the team one teachers do something, they kind of stop and think also say "I wounder what other people eat for lunch and morning tea".

Team 2: Team twos slide show was about Dora the explore exploring the world. All of Dora friends didn't have a idea where to go, Dora got map out and Map said lets go to Queens town. They all travelled over the big steamy hot pools in Rotorua, went over a big lake and it took them 2-3 hours just to get to Queens Town.

Team 3: Team threes slide show was about the amazing race. Team three teachers planned to go and have a flight all around the world but they couldn't, because of the (Covid 19) and the Australian borders were closed. The teachers of team three went in groups of two to explore the world and also find landmarks of their own country, if you won you would win a trip to Paris when the borders open but if you came last you would of got disqualified.

Team 4: Team fours slide show was about foods all around the world. Team four had all different foods from around the world, Miss West had sushi from Japan, Miss Parent had a chicken roll with carrots and all sorts of healthy vegetables in it. Miss West had her computer and all the teachers didn't know where there food was from so Miss West searched it up on google.

Team 5: Team five teachers performed there saying of what we are going to be learning about this term. Team five performed about Sina and the Eel, the Eel liked Sina but Sina the beautiful young girl seemed to not like the Eel back. The Eel was begging Sina to like him back but Sina kept running away, Sina went to tell her cousins about the Eel and that she was scared of him. Sinas cousins came with a big knife to cut Eels head off.

I am very thankful for having a beautiful nice Immersion assembly on the first day of the term. I'm thankful for learning about the difference around the world, I'm thankful for heaps of things that my principal "Mr Burt" and the teachers. I'm thankful for having teachers to put up there time for us kids at Pt England School.

Genius Hour - Piano

For the past 2 weeks I have been working on my Genius Hour! For my Genius Hour I have chosen to learn more about Pianos, Pianos are really fun to learn about!... Did you know that Pianos have 88 keys, 52 white keys and 36 shorter black keys.

Which Graph?

This week I have been working on a task called Which Graph. This is the task, it is really fun and hard!

Matariki Day!

Maori new year - celebrating what ?

In the sky around night time there are 7 stars out on Matariki day, you can also see them clearly. The 7 stars are representing the seven sisters, Traditional Matariki was used to determine the coming seasons crop.  The 7 sisters names are Tupu a nuku, Tupu a rangi, Waiti, Waita, Wai puna rangi, and Ururangi.

Last week on friday my school celebrated Matariki. There were groups of Cooking,Sports,Arts & Crafts, and many much more, I was in the group cooking with my teacher's Mrs Tele'a and Mr Huse. My favourite highlight of Matariki was baking the cup cakes with my friend Zoe, Zoe and I got the chance to finally bake some nice cup cakes.

New Zealand should celebrate Matariki because the 7 sisters are really important. Matariki provides an ideal opportunity to explore the ways that people pass on and sustain aspect of their culture and heritage. Matariki is a time of growth and change, Matariki is the Maori name for a star constellation that rises up into the sky in mid-winter.

Story Reflection

This week I have been working on a story reflection. Writing about story's is really fun because you get to know more about the story and whats happening.

This is how what students at Pt England School in room 3 did during the level 4 lockdown/isolation. Students liked to sleep in,Spend time with their family, clean and much more.

A game of cards

Today and Yesterday I have been working on a book called "A game of cards by Witi Ihimaera"! This book is a really good one cause its talking about Nanis Mokopunas and Nanis Kuias. There are some words that we never heard before, and we finally got the chance to get to know what it means.

The reasons I have two maps of Waituhi and Rongpai is this book takes place there.

Taha Tinana - Fitness & Hygiene!

Taha Tinana - Fitness & Hygiene:

Our physical bodies need to stay fit and clean. We need to stay clean and healthy to keep up with our physical health and we also need to keep fit. Our families and homes are where we learn the basic but important steps.

Here are 9 examples of what happens in my family.
-My mum makes sure we eat heaps of vegetables with our dinner
-My mum always makes sure we keep fit and go for runs at least twice a week
-My mum makes sure that we have a good tooth brush so we can brush our teeth twice a day
-My mum always makes sure that we have clean soap and that we have good running water
-My mum will always make sure that we have food
-My mum always makes sure that we don't eat too much meat
-My mother makes sure that we have Shampoo to wash our hair
-My mother always buys ( Healthy ) things for us to eat during the day
-And my mum always makes sure we stay healthy and we keep fit also go for runs at least twice a week

-Characters

Task Description: Today I have been working on the Characters task with my friends Hannah and Zoe. On the last page we are recording our voice reading the play for the book,this is a really fun book to read.
