Camp Bentzon

Dear future campers, Camp Bentzon is the most fun thing about being year 6 because you get to go on Camp and also you don't get to stay at school and do work. When you go to Camp Bentzon, you will see there is heaps and heaps of activities to play and do. This is camp is pretty much about facing your fears. The group names are Bentzon, Mansion, Kawau, and Katz. Here are some 5 Top Tips about Camp Bentzon.

First Tip: “Killer Hill” When you go hiking on Killer Hill, you will need to wear the right shoes and also you would need a water bottle so you don't die out there. WHen you get to Kawau Island/ Camp Bentzon, you will need to be prepared for the 1 two 2 hour hike on Killer Hill. “Killer Hill” is the most hardest thing on Camp Bentzon and it would not be your favourite thing about Camp Bentzon I bet. As soon as you hit that hill you will already be dying out there because the hill is so huge, yes you would be dying out there, especially your legs and your legs only. I recommend you should take my advice and you should take your water bottle on that hill…….

Second Tip: Camp Bentzon has heaps of mosquitoes there so you have to watch out or they will probably bite you and you will have bad mosquito bites on you. And I will 5 Top Tips for you. “Killer Hill” When we go to camp, the teachers told all of the kids take we are going to walk up a Big Hill. Camp Bentzon is one of the best Camp’s that anyone has ever been on you get to have so much fun and to be honest this is one of the best camps to let all of your energy out and to have fun. Also to remember not to feed the Wekas and Wallabies because our human food isn't good for them.

3rd Tip: When you wake up in the morning to make sure that you have your running shoes and running gear on because you would get really hot when you run and you might even get tired, because when you run it going to be really hot and sweaty. When you look down you would see something that looks like rasines don't pick it up because it would be wallaby poop so make sure you don't pick it up. So I hope you liked my tips and I hope I helped you.

4th Tip: When you play spot light, you will need to wear all black possible and also you will need to be very quiet. If you about to play spotlight, make sure to hide in a good dark spot so the people that are in can't find you and you will be the winner. At Camp Bentzon, all of the students/campers played spotlight with the parent helpers and teachers, before we played we had to go to our cabins and we had to change into black clothes. When we finished getting changed, Mr Jacobson gave us some instructions, we didn't play the normal spot light we played a different one and its played like this. Before you get spotted, you will need to be at the deck before you get spotted, we played 5 games of spot light. Just remember if your gonna play spot light, you will need to wear a lot of black possible and also you will need to hide in a good dark spot.

5th Tip: If you go on a Ferry Ride, Before you go on a Ferry Ride, you will need to wear the right shoes which is closed shoes and also your shoelaces will need to be tied up really tight so you do not trip over. If your wearing a hat on the Ferry, you will need to hold it really tight because I lost my hat on the Ferry, because it was so so windy. So remember just to hold your hat tight and also have your shoelaces tight, last but not least, do not run on the Ferry.

Conclusion: My favourite part about Camp Bentzon was, the Volleyball court and also the swings. The Volleyball court was my first favourite part because I played it every morning and also I can learn more things about Volleyball. Second of all, the swings were my second favourite because the swing really really high and also they are really long.

So there is all of my writing about camp I hope you year 6’s have fun there because all of us old year 6’s had fun. With these Top 5 Tips, You will have a great Camp. !!!HAVE FUN!!!

Horror story about Camp

Task Description: This week room 7 has had to do a writing task about a scary haunted camp or House. I decided to do a camp just because if I do it about haunted house, I will get really scared and I wont be able to go sleep, and also I will be scared for the rest of my life in my house.

Athletics Recount.

                Athletics Day Recount 

Last week on Friday the 7th of November, Pt England School got to go and do Athletics. On Friday before we came to school, all of the students had to bring their clothes that are the same colour as their house colour. The house colour I was in was Hine-Moana which stands for blue, and the other colours were Hikianalia, Te-Aurere and Hokulea.

When we got to the courts, Miss Va’afusuaga sent the classes to where they were going to play their game first and the year 6 girls we went to go play dodge ball first down at the reserve. When we got to the reserve where dodgeball was held, we had to sit in two straight lines, and then Miss Rimona put two of the house colours together so it was fair and equal. The team Hine Moana was with was Hikianalia which is the yellow team, and the team that was with Hokulea was Te Aurere which stands for the red team.

When we got to the sprints, Mr Burt got us to get in two even lines so he could pick the first five/eight people who could run first. Before Mr Burt got Five/Eight people to run, Mr Burt Gave us some entructions so we can know where we are running. First we had to run to the yellow cones which is 75 meters run, as soon as we all ran two times, Mr Burt said it was time for the 100 Meter run, so we all got into a lane but we had to make it even so we can all have a turn. When all of the year 6 girls got into a lane, Mr Burt said first group stand up and he said on your marks set and then he used the clapping tool so we know when to run.

Conclusion: My favourite part about Athletics day was, The Sprints, High Jump and Discuss. Sprints was my favourite because I love to run and it's also good to run. Exercise is one of the best that can help your health and body, that's why I prefer thats all of use reading this should do exercise mostly everyday.

The Rocky Shore

The Rocky Shore is a habitat in the intertidal that has all sorts of zones and also all sorts of sea creatures that live around the Rocky Shores, the Rocky Shore is a common place. The Rocky Shore has all sorts of zones within the intertidal like the Supratidal, Sublittoral, Subtidal and the splash zone. It contains many organisms creatures and plant life it conditions beautiful plants and animals.The Highest low tide zone is right above the Low tide zone. The Highest low tide zone covers all the slimy and crunchy sea creatures the Highest low tide zone is the low tide zone, and the lowest tide zone. The Highest low tide zone is covering sea creatures like Sponge, California mussel ,Giant green anemone, Ochre sea star, Chitons, Barnacles and that is pretty much that I know what kind of sea creatures live below the Highest low tide zone. The Splash zone is where all of the water go and do hard splashes on the rocks and also u would not want to sit on the rocks where the splash zone is because u will get hit really bad and hard and u will probably end up in the hospital.The High Tide zone is in between in the Highest high zone and Lowest high tide zone. The High tide zone has sea creatures with shells like Limpet (Acmaea), Chiton ( Nuttallina), Periwinkle (Littorina), Buckshot, Barnacles, (Chthamalus), (Balanua) and that's all I know of what is in the High tide zone area.The Subtidal zone or Sublittoral zone is the area directly below the intertidal zone. It sits beneath the low tide mark, and is continuously and permanently covered in water. This zone is much more stable than the intertidal zone and temperature and pressure remains more constant. Organisms do not therefore dry out and grow much faster.  The Rocky Shore is an intertidal habitat place where u can find many different sea creatures. The Rocky Shore has many different sea creatures like Crabs, Kina, Mussels. Many different zones including the Splash zone, Intertidal zone, King tide zone, Sublittoral zone.The Rocky Shore was a fun place to write about because the Rocky Shore might have some of your guys favourite sea creatures, my favourite sea creature was the crabs and the turtles but mostly the turtle because turtles are very cute.

We had to finish it before the end of this term which is term 2, so I actually finished last week but I had to just do my voice over for it and also this is my first animation for this term, I hope you enjoyed watching my animation movie and reading my script.

Hi my name is Leylani and I go to Pt England School.

This term Team 4 had to make an animation about directions around the school. Also you have to chose 4 places in the school to draw. The places I have chosen and drawn are the front of the school, the sick bay, the corridor and the hard court. I hope you enjoy. 

First you will be standing at the front of the school. Head north towards the red double doors. Keep going past the breeze, the hall and head North towards the office. When you get to the office, turn right and head East until you get to the sick bay. 

After that, go back towards the office and head West. Go down the passageway until you get to the double doors down the passageway. 

Go out of the double doors and head south until you get to the hardcourt. You will have reached your destination.

Falling asleep at the airport.

Last week I went to the airport to say goodbye to my cousin. Keep reading more if u want to hear more about my story. When we were at the airport we had to wait a long time for his flight.
When we were waiting I was feeling so so tired and so I fell asleep on the chair, while we were waiting for my cousin’s flight.
When I was asleep my cousin put me in his suitcase and when he did, his flight arrived. So then he closed his suitcase and went to the plane, and when we were in the plane I heard some plane noises and it was strange.
When we arrived at his destination which is Australia, he opened his suitcase and I escaped and I saw that I was in Australia, and that's how I know I have a free holiday in Australia.
My cousin was finally ready to go home after a few weeks. When we arrived home, I got into big trouble for not telling my mum that I was in Australia but it was actually my cousin's fault. Then I got sent to my room. Then I quickly told my mum that I fell asleep and then my cousin had just put me in his suitcase and then I had just heard some plane noises.  Then after that I got grounded for going out and also after school I now have to go straight home.

Task Description: Today my teacher Mr Goodwin has given room 7 a googles docs. Room 7 has had to write in the google docs what ever they want but it has to be included with family members or some friends. I have written a story about my cousin going to Australia and me falling asleep on the chair and go to Australia.

My family and I were meant to go to the beach but the tide wasn’t in until night time, cause my sister searched up PE beach but the tide wasn’t in. So then we just stayed home and I swam in our pool, but the pool was filling up.Then we had to clean up, then we got to go on our devices but it was so so hot for me so I went in the pool.Next we had lunch and waited for my mum to get home, and when my mum came home from work at 2:00 my sister asked me if I wanted to go with her to her friends house, so I said yea sure. Then my sister and I came back home, and then my baby cousin came over so I was playing with my baby cousin, then my brother in law and my sister went to go and pick up my nefue, and then I started playing with my baby cousin and my nefue.

Also my favourite food is butter chicken on rice. And roast chicken on rice as well. My favourite subject is writing and reading but mostly writing.I love to play netball and rugby but this year I think I am going to play both, On the weekend i go to my nana's house just for 3 days, when I am there I sometimes go out or play on the swing,out side cause I get bored.I would like to travel around the world so when I am older, I can go to a country and explore like Australia and go to,sea world.

For this task we used a template given to us by Mr Goodwin to write about ourselves for the about me section on our blog. We had to think about our different interests, hobbies, and information about ourselves in a way that was cybersmart.
